Kodiak Canvas 6014 8 Person Deluxe Tent - Fast 5-Minute Set-up with 1 Person!

This Kodiak Canvas 10 x 14 tent is great whether you're headed to the campground with your family or elk camp with your hunting buddies. This rugged, all-season tent is well suited for any occasion. Made with premium grade, Hydra-Shield, 100% cotton duck canvas (walls: 8.5 oz, roof: 10 oz). The tight weave and silicone finish make the canvas watertight yet breathable, minimizing condensation and mugginess. Go ahead and touch the inside walls during a downpour - this canvas will not wick water. This particular model sells out before all the other canvas tents we carry. The Flex-Bow frame has tempered spring steel rods that keep the tent taut, and robust steel tube poles that will hold up to fierce winds.
The floor material is a super-duty, puncture resistant, 16 oz vinyl with welded seams that keeps water out. Easy, one-person set-up takes only a few minutes after you have it staked out. The steep walls and high ceiling provide a roomy interior with stand-up, walk-around comfort. Two large doors with top-rated #10 YKK zippers give convenient access to the front and back. Four windows and two vents allow ample air flow. Windows and vents have no-see-um screen mesh, keeping out the smallest pests. A customizable gear loft and organizer system offer plenty of places to stow gear. A large awning provides shade and a covered entry. The handy strap-and-cinch storage bag means no cramming into an undersized bag. Hefty 12-inch steel stakes included.

A: The free ground tarp is the kodiak brand 1714, yes.

Q: What's the difference between this one and the same model (6014- 8 person Deluxe Canvas Tent) for $50 more found here: competitiveedgeproducts.com/Kodiak-Canvas-10x14-ft-6014-8-person-Deluxe-Canvas-Tent_p_18.html?

Asked by: girl_w_style - 2/11/2018
A: There's actually no difference-both websites belong to competitiveedgeproducts.com
Answer provided by: Customer Service (2/12/2018)

Q: How much does this tent weigh and what is the dimensions rolled up ?

Asked by: David - 2/7/2018
A: It has two bags. Each bag weighs about 40 pounds. The tent body bag is about (depends on how tightly you roll it up) 30 inches wide by 18 inches in diameter. The pole bag is about 3 feet long and about 4 inches in diameter. Feel free to contact us with any other questions.
Answer provided by: Customer Service (2/7/2018)

Q: What is the difference between the deluxe canvas and regular canvas?

Asked by: Jerry Taylor - 6/4/2017
A: The deluxe model has four windows versus two, airflow vents versus none, a nicer storage bag, and other storage accessories inside the tent.
Answer provided by: Customer Service (2/7/2018)

Q: I've seen guys have stove jacks installed in your tents but there is nobody near me that offers this service. Is there a reason that your tents don't come with this as an option? Is it possible to have one installed prior to delivery?

Asked by: JT Morgan - 9/14/2016
A: Unfortunately, neither we nor the manufacturer recommend it for liability purposes. I'm sorry for the bad news.
Answer provided by: Customer Help (9/14/2016)

Q: does this tent also have a rear door?

Asked by: Al - 5/21/2016
A: Yes, there is a door in the front and the door in the back. Feel free to contact us with any other questions.
Answer provided by: Customer Service (5/23/2016)

Q: what is the difference between the deluxe and regular tent ?

Asked by: Sam - 10/16/2015
A: Basic vs Deluxe - 2 windows vs 4 windows, gear loft vs none, air vents vs none, cinch and strap storage bag vs regular duffel-style.
Answer provided by: Customer Service (10/20/2015)

Q: Why is this tent more expensive than the basic version?

Asked by: Customer - 7/30/2015
A: This model is more expensive than the basic version for several reasons. It includes four windows instead of two, it has airflow events instead of none, it has extra gear pockets and a gear loft, and it has a nicer cinch and strap carrying bag. The weight of the canvas on the roof, walls, and the polyvinyl floor are identical. The poles that are included are also identical between the two tents. It basically boils down to more ventilation.
Answer provided by: Charley Hansen (9/9/2015)

Q: How many people can I cram inside this? I noticed that a lot of advertisements are inaccurate when it comes to tents and how many people you can realistically fit inside.

Asked by: Customer - 7/30/2015
A: This is a very large tent and depending on the amount of gear you bring you it can comfortably hold eight or it can comfortably hold four. For example, if you have four people and all of them have extra large cots, then you might think that there is not room for four more people. You would probably be right. However, this is our best-selling tent for the Boy Scouts of America. In those cases they can actually cram 10 people in their comfortably depending on the age. So, what we recommend is measuring out 10' x 14' in your yard somewhere to get an idea of how many sleeping bags, mattresses, cots or sleeping pads you could fit comfortably.
Answer provided by: Charley Hansen (9/9/2015)

Q: Do more people buy this size or the smaller 10' x 10' size?

Asked by: Customer - 7/30/2015
A: In the past many people have purchased the 10' x 10' tent. That is still probably the most common size you might see in campgrounds. However, with the introduction of the 10' x 14' flex-bow tent model 6043, 6014, and 6044 we find that customers generally prefer to go with bigger tents. There is always the concern that you might not find a campground that allows the footprint of 10' x 14'. You might want to measure out 10' x 10' in your yard to get an idea of how big of a tent you desire.
Answer provided by: Charley Hansen (9/9/2015)

Q: How long does this take to receive if I live in Florida?

Asked by: Customer - 7/30/2015
A: Shipping to Florida takes about 5 to 7 days. If the item is in stock it ships out the same day it is a weekday and it is ordered before 11:30 AM time (1:30 PM Florida time).
Answer provided by: Charley Hansen (9/9/2015)

Q: I'm looking at this model versus the 10' x 10' size. Do the walls have a steeper slope on this compared to the smaller one? I can't tell by looking at the picture.

Asked by: Customer - 7/30/2015
A: The walls are a little bit steeper on the 10' x 10' tent than the 10' x 14' tent, but not enough to be concerned about. The roof is not the same between the two-it is larger on the 10' x 14' tent so that it minimizes the difference in slope. The slope does not change the sleeping capacity of eight people versus six people.
Answer provided by: Charley Hansen (9/9/2015)

Q: Do I have to worry about mildew with this tent?

Asked by: Customer - 7/30/2015
A: Yes, you have to be concerned with mildew or mold on any canvas tent. You don't need to be "concerned" per se, but you do need to be aware that rolling the tent up went moist and storing it in that condition will eventually lead to mildew and mold which will affect the performance, the smell, and the look of the tent. Make sure that you never roll this up wet. If it rains make sure that you dry it out immediately when you get home. This tent will last for decades it is taken care of properly.
Answer provided by: Charley Hansen (9/9/2015)

Q: How does the warranty process work if something is wrong with the tent?

Asked by: Customer - 7/30/2015
A: If something is wrong with the tent either due to damage or a manufacturer's defect simply give us a call and we will walk you through the process. The process basically involves taking several photographs of the defect and emailing it along with a copy of your receipt. As long as the manufacturer determines that it was indeed damaged or defective they will have the item replaced or repaired (your choice) at their expense.
Answer provided by: Charley Hansen (9/10/2015)

Q: Is the door on the left or the right side? I assume that it unzips to be a window as well?

Asked by: Customer - 7/30/2015
A: If you are facing the tent the doors on the right side and the window is on the left side. If you were to flip the tent 180° it would look practically identical with the door on the right side and the window on the left side. Yes, the doors on this particular model 6014 also have screens built into them so you can open them up and function as a window.
Answer provided by: Charley Hansen (9/10/2015)

Q: When I go camping I bring cots with me. I'm worried that I won't be able to fit very many in if I can't put it right next to the wall. How many could I fit?

Asked by: Customer - 7/30/2015
A: You can most definitely fit extra extra-large cots inside this tent. The number of cots depends on the size of the cot. It might be a good idea to take a measuring tape and measure out on your lawn 10' x 14' so you can get an idea of how many cots and how much gear you can store inside the tent. You can put the cots right up against the wall since these tents do not allow water to seep through when other material is touching the wall.
Answer provided by: Charley Hansen (9/10/2015)

Q: If I am getting rained on and my equipment is touching the walls will it start to seep through and get me wet?

Asked by: Customer - 7/30/2015
A: One of the greatest selling points about these canvas tents is that they do not "wick"-meaning that if you have an item touching the tent wall while it is raining it will not get the item inside the tent wet.
Answer provided by: Charley Hansen (9/10/2015)
A: I have had the Kodiak 9x8 for 8+ years and it’s amazing! Last summer I took it to Oregon and experienced some crazy weather. Complete downpour (on and off) for 3 days. I will say the tent stays impressively dry but on one side water did start seeping in after a full day and night of rain. Had to move things away from the walls on two sides so they didn’t get wet. That being said it does a very good job of staying dry. In past rainstorms that only lasted a few hours or one day the tent has stayed dry inside. I am looking at this 10 x 14 because I would like to upgrade to have more room. I personally feel like the 9X8 is ideal for one person, though I have shared it for several years the lack of space makes it challenging to keep 2 peoples things organized for the duration of the adventure.
Answer provided by: Maya (4/27/2018)

Q: Can I fit more than 8 people into this tent if two of us share a sleeping bag?

Asked by: Maddie - 7/15/2015
A: I am sure you can fit more than 8 if everyone was smaller and not taking up much space in sleeping. The opposite would also be true. If people were occupying a lot of space, you would not be able to fit 8 people. A better way to possibly get at an answer to this question is to look at the square footage and layout of the tent and map out where each person would be sleeping and how much space they would be occupying. That will give you an idea of the occupancy you would be able to reach.

This is the best tent of it's kind on the market. I have a friend who bought one eight years ago, and I noticed the one I just bought had various improvements. Kodiak Canvas is obviously taking careful note of their product and making improvements. A huge difference from most cheap junk out there that is produced for a year or two and then obsolete. CanvasCampingTents.com throwing in the ground tarp that fits the tent for free makes this the best deal on the internet for buying this tent. Good shipping. The free camp chair was nice too.

Deluxe canvas tent 10x14
Glad I went with the 10x14 size I think it’s perfect to sleep 4 people on cots and have room to put your stuff aside. Will test it in October in the Nevada desert to see how it stands out

Great Tent
I purchased this tent last year for my daughter and her 2 small children. We make several extended camping trips to the Great Smokey Mountains every summer. This tent is very spacious. Plenty of room for a queen mattress and the bunks for the kids, plus storage, and still more room available. The entire tent is very sturdy as advertised. Heavy canvas, the floor is very thick and rugged, the poles are very sturdy, and huge tent stakes to keep it anchored to the ground. The storage loft is also very handy. During one of our first camping trips last year with this tent, a strong thunderstorm came up one evening with heavy rain. Not one drop of water inside this tent. The tent is very easy to set-up and take down at the end of the trip. To sum it all up, this tent is everything as advertised. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. This tent is worth every cent. I am back on the site again now to order a second tent for my wife and myself.

Great Tent
very easy set up probably 20 minutes first time set up. Going to go to 10" TimberLok acres with fender washers and electric screwdriver instead of pounding 20 stakes.stakes. Set up will be lest than 15 minutes.

Very well made
This is my 3rd canvas tent. One I wore out, one was eaten by mice. This is by far the best! It sets up easily, although it does take time. And yes its heavy. Lots of nice touches and quality materials and zippers. The floor is very thick material as are the poles. The storage bag makes packing up a breeze. If taken care of should last a very long time! Highly recommended.
