Kodiak Canvas Ground Tarps

Ground Tarps for Kodiak Canvas Tents

A fitted ground tarp, also called a tent footprint, creates a protective barrier between your tent floor and the campsite. It helps separate the floor from dirt, damp soil, pine needles, small rocks, and abrasive surfaces, making cleanup easier and reducing everyday wear. Canvas Camping Tents carries Kodiak ground tarps sized for popular 8.5-by-6, 9-by-8, 10-by-10, 12-by-9, 12-by-12, 10-by-14, and 12-by-16-foot tent configurations.

Why Use a Kodiak Tent Footprint?

Even a heavy-duty tent floor benefits from a clean, correctly sized layer underneath. A footprint reduces direct contact with rough ground and helps keep mud and debris off the tent when it is time to pack. Featured Kodiak footprints use reinforced polyethylene in model-specific dimensions, with select designs offering reinforced corners and rust-resistant grommets.

A ground tarp does not replace careful site selection. Choose level, well-drained ground and remove sticks, sharp stones, cones, and other objects before setup. Never place the footprint where runoff collects, and do not rely on it to correct a low or flooded campsite.

How to Match a Ground Tarp to Your Kodiak Tent

Use the tent's exact model number and floor dimensions when shopping. A tarp that is too small leaves portions of the floor exposed. A tarp that extends beyond the tent can catch rain and direct water underneath. Center the footprint beneath the shelter and keep every edge inside or aligned with the tent floor according to the manufacturer's instructions.

• Confirm the model: Find the number on the tent label, instructions, receipt, or product page.
• Check dimensions: Similar-looking tents may use different footprints.
• Match the SKU: Verify compatibility in the tarp's title and specifications.
• Inspect construction: Compare material thickness, reinforcement, grommets, and packed size.
• Review availability: Check current inventory, pricing, and shipping before ordering.

Ground Tarp vs. Canvas Floor Liner

A ground tarp goes outside and beneath the tent. A canvas floor liner goes inside, on top of the built-in floor, to add comfort and help keep the living area cleaner. Many campers use both because they perform separate jobs. Neither accessory should be folded or bunched in a way that traps moisture.
