Well worth the price

This tent replaces my 44 year old Sears Hillary 9X11 tent. With the heavy grade vinyl replacement floor in the old tent, it was impossible to fold up in cold weather and was very heavy. The first setup of the Kodiak took a little longer than expected, but now I think it will take about 3 minutes after I get the pegs in place. On hunting trips, I cook and read in the tent, and nothing beats a white interior for light reflection. This certainly will be the last tent I will need. Care for your Kodiak and it might outlive you.

6098 9x8

First impressions - very impressed. Set it up quickly, but haven’t actually used on an adventure yet. It is hefty to carry so you will want to use your vehicle/boat/snowmobile to get close to where you’ll use the tent.

Hunter Hiker Camper

After 5 years of use for hunting and camping the Kodiak tent continues to impress. Fall hunting in rainstorms, windstorms and even some sunny days my Kodiak continues to provide great protection from the elements. Our hunting camp now has 3 Kodiak tents keeping us dry and comfortable at night.

Q: What’s the difference between a “Kodiak tarp and a 9ml tarp elsewhere?

A: Not much. The Kodiak tarp is brown on both sides and has some quality nylon loops sewn onto the corners, but if you already have a decent tarp you won't need the Kodiak one. If you don't have one it's a pretty good deal.

Q: I just bought the small 6x8.5 Kodiak tent from you, and I absolutely love it! This small tent will do nicely for my canoe camping needs. Now I am in the market for a slightly bigger version for car camping. I thought the 8x9 was a good fit, but I noticed it costs more than the basic 10x10. I like the weight of the 8x9 better. Can you explain why it costs more than the 10x10? Thanks !

A: Customers will often ask why the smaller 9' x 8' tent is more expensive than the larger 10' x 10' tent. The reason is that the 9' x 8' tent is a deluxe model that has the extra bells and whistles including two extra windows and the more expensive 10' x 10' Kodiak tent is simply the basic model with less windows, no airflow vents, etc. Feel free to contact us with any other questions.

Q: I have extreme chemical sensitivities, which is why I am looking at canvas tents. I am concerned about the silicone water repellent treatment in the fabric, and the coating on the flooring material. I read a review that the flooring has quite a strong odor that takes at least 2 weeks to dissipate. Is it possible to get fabric samples so I can test to see if I react?

A: Unfortunately, we don't have any samples. I'm sorry for the bad news. I have had no reports of customers having any issues physically. When you set up the tent is simply smells like a brand-new tent and after you air it out the only thing I can smell is the canvas which is the smell of camping for me now.

Q: If 10' vestibule fit on 9'x8' model?

Q: Does it have an electrical port?

A: This model does not have an electrical port. The only models that do have the electrical port is model 6133 and model 6121. It isn't so much port as it is an opening in the tent design for an extension cord. It is still quite easy to run power to the tent as each door has two sets of zippers and a flap to cover the zippers giving you protection. We do not recommend using power in rain or snow or excessive wind or any environment that can cause a dangerous situation or threat of fire.
