Wild Aspen 20 Degree Sleeping Bags

Needed a compact sleeping bag for my truck “just in case” bag. Comfortable, warm, light. Highly recommended

I gave the KLYMIT Wild Aspen 0 regular 5 stars because it is a bargain for the clearance price I got (66 percent off, 32 USD). It is light, and appears to be high quality and very well made. For the regular size sleeping bag, I took measurements, which are as follows. Weight (using a kitchen scale): - Stuffing sack: 3.5oz - Sleeping bag: 3lb 8oz (this is more than the spec'd weight) - Combined weight: 3lb 11.5oz Dimensions: - Unrolled 70x27. I am 6'1 and 185 lbs. I tried to fit in it, but this bag is too short for me by at least 4, so it will get used by my wife or kids. - Rolled up size (uncompressed): 14.5x8.5 - Compressed size: 12x8.5 (14x7x7 in my M-Tac Compression Stuff Sack) I will say it took some work to get it rolled up tight enough to fit back in the compression sack that comes with this bag. Unzipping and folding the wider middle section over on top of itself helped. I may get a couple more for the rest of my shorter members of my fam. I'll add more info about use in low temps after we have that exprience.

Extremely light weigh for a synthetic and packs very small. Used it on a series of 3-4 day pack trips through Colorado with temps at higher elevations (12,000 feet) dipping into the low 30s. While wearing only a base layer I remained perfectly warm. I am 5'11 and 185lbs and a side sleeper. Paired with Klymit V2 and slept well every night. Would buy it again.

I used the sleeping bag in 28F weather in the woods and it kept me warm and comfortable. It had rained the previous night and the weather was cold and humid. I used a 4.5 R value air mattress underneath on a raised platform. The extra thickness of the bag at the feet kept the feet warm. The draft tubes worked and I didn’t feel any draft coming in when I moved around. For zipping up the bag, I turned on one side and that provided me with enough room to maneuver the zip. The zip may get caught at times but if you pull back and out, it closes smoothly. I wasn’t able to close the hood around my head probably due to my height (6’1”) or the pillow or both. I used a small blanket to cover the head and part of the face so it became comfortable to sleep for the rest of the night. If you are a side sleeper, you will end up turning sideways with the bag but if you have a good mattress, it won’t bother you. Overall, I recommend this sleeping bag for cold weather and it lives up to the rating for which it is designed for.
