Will the Kodiak 7211 fit my truck?

The 7211 is the mid-size and compact model. Measure the inside of your bed with the tailgate up — if it measures 5 to 6.5 feet, this is your tent. Bed length is what matters, not the model year.

Important for non-US models: Kodiak truck tents are not compatible with the RAM 700 or Fiat Strada. Vehicle fit depends on the truck bed’s measured length and rail dimensions; if your vehicle is not listed, contact us with the year, make, model, and bed length before ordering.

One thing to check first: your bed rails

The 7211 mounts with C-clamps that grip the top lip of your bed rail. Most mid-size trucks take the standard clamps that come in the box. Some do not — Tacomas with thick plastic bed rail caps are the usual case. Kodiak says the same thing in the owner's manual: "If you have custom caps or channel on your truck bed rails, special C-clamps may be required." Owners who have hit this report picking up larger aftermarket clamps for around $25. We would rather tell you up front than have you find out in a campground. Q: You have the 7206 and 7218 models listed, and a third without the SKU. I was wondering if this is the 7211 as listed on the official Kodiak Canvas website. You have it described for "up to 6'" beds, but the official Kodiak Canvas site has it listed to "6.5'". Can you confirm which is correct?

A: Kodiak's specification is correct — the 7211 fits mid-size and compact trucks with a bed measuring 5 to 6.5 feet inside with the tailgate up. Our earlier listing understated the top of that range and has been corrected. That range covers the Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Frontier, Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon, Ford Ranger, Jeep Gladiator and Dodge Dakota. If you have a full-size truck with a 5.5 to 6.8 ft bed, the 7206 is the right model instead. Call 866-308-5484 with your year, make, model and bed length and we will confirm before you order.

Well what can I say about this tent other than, wow, holy wow! I am so impressed and so pleased with this purchase! The quality and craftsmanship are excellent. In fact, I'm not ashamed to admit I've recently had to use it for more than just camping. The only modification I had to make were the C clamps. I have a Bed Extender tracks underneath the rim of my bed so the clamps provided we're not large enough I had to go with a 5-inch C-clamp. But that was about 10 bucks extra no big deal. I highly recommend this to anyone who's thinking about buying one. A darn good quality product for camping and as a temporary homestead!
