The Swag was born in the Australian outback. The idea sprang from the traditional bedroll. It has evolved into a one-person tent and mattress pad all-in-one. Born in the Australian Outback, the Kodiak Canvas Swag tent is a highly versatile, one-person, portable, sleep system. It is an advanced evolution of the traditional bedroll. Add a blanket or sleeping bag, and you have all you need to bed down. Unroll and set it up in a matter of minutes. It is six feet eight inches long and nearly three feet wide, providing a roomy sleeping space even for big guys. Use it on the ground, in the bed of a pickup, or with a compatible cot.*

Made with premium-grade, HydraShield, 100% cotton duck canvas. The tight weave and silicone finish make the canvas watertight yet breathable, minimizing condensation and mugginess. Unlike canvas tents of years past, our canvas will not wick water. Watertight and breathable means you stay more comfortable. Aluminum alloy poles provide a sturdy structure. The floor is heavy-duty, puncture-resistant, 16 oz vinyl that keeps water out. Unzip screened windows in the head and foot for airflow. These windows have small awnings over them so they can be opened even when raining. When weather permits, roll the top cover back, and it's like sleeping under the stars. The screen mesh keeps the bugs and critters out. Included is a 2-inch thick, open-cell, polyurethane foam mattress pad. The pad has a removable flannel cover that can be washed. When it's time to move, the Swag packs up in no time - mattress pad, sleeping bag (sold separately), blankets, and all. Everything is neatly rolled and ready for the next stop. When adventure calls, grab your swag, and go.

A: Yes, it's great for winter. There's less volume to keep warm so depending on the outside temperature it can stay warmer inside the tent, is low profile for bad wind, and holds up in all 4 seasons.

Q: I've heard with the swag tents you don't need to put a sleeping bag inside it. Is that right?

A: That depends on the temperature. If you are camping in warm weather you are likely to get by with the blanket that can be rolled up inside the tent altogether. If you are camping in much colder weather you may need more blankets or sleeping bag adequate to keep you warm which may need to be rolled up separate from the tent.

Nice tent a little hard to get in and out . If it was raining everything in my opinion would get wet inside when your getting in or out so I will have to buy some three foot tent poles a tarp and extra steaks so if its raining the bedding will stay dry . The mattress is very comfortable the zippers are great like all Kodiak tents it goes up fast comes down fast its low to the ground so if you dont anyone to know your camping they might walk right past and not bother you its veryrain proof I put the hose to it for about a half hour no leaks the floor material looks like it will last for twenty years the D rings are great . Im getting the cot that the tent fits on very soon . I think its a great tent . I got the extra pole for it and its much better .

Its everything I hoped for!
I finally was able to purchase this swag after a year of wanting it. It was everything I hoped for! It is super easy to deploy as well as put back in the bag. It takes me 3 minutes from the time the bagged swag hits the ground until it is ready for sleep. Same applies to putting it away. My absolute favorite thing is I can put my bedding on the provided mattress at home in my living room or garage. That way when I arrive at camp I am simply rolling it out putting the stakes in the ground and I am in to the fridge for a cold beer! Your friends will be jealous when you are enjoying that beer while they try to figure out a standard tent and spend another hour preparing bedding. 100% worth the money if you camp regularly. The canvas is very warm during the winter months and during the summer the netting keeps the bugs out yet allows you to see the stars! The zippers are big and smooth. The PVC bottom is also very durable. You will not be disappointed. IT IS NOT FOR HIKING CAMPING TRIPS!! If you plan to hike in somewhere this is not the tent for you! This is for vehicle camping!

This thing is ridiculous
I can see why these are popular in the outback. Sheesh! Grab it and go and if you ditch the pad it's practically nothing in size. Used it in the rain, kept me dry though I didn't sleep well as I worried I'd get wet. Good work.
