6714 10x14 Screen House

Complete your camp with this rugged all-season screen house. It’s the perfect retreat from bugs, sun, and weather. Place it over a picnic table to create an ideal dining area, or set it up to add a comfy living space. This is built on the popular and sturdy Flex-Bow frame with tempered, spring steel rods that keep the tent taut. Its 1-inch steel tube poles will hold up to fierce winds. The screen house features Hydra-Shield™, 100% cotton duck canvas on the ceiling, and poly-cotton, rip-stop canvas on the walls. For ventilation and openness, the screen house is equipped with four large windows.

The versatile side walls (front and back) can be rolled up, or extended out with poles into a small awning. Zip shut the sidewalls and/or windows for stormy weather, or privacy. Screen side walls can be rolled up for access or to create an open air atmosphere. Easy, one-person setup takes only a few minutes after you have staked it out. The steep walls and 6’6” high ceiling provide a roomy interior with stand-up, walk-around comfort. A customizable organizer system offers convenient places to stow smaller items.

The screen house has an open bottom - no sewn-in floor. This allows you to place it over a fixed picnic table. It is equipped with a poly fringe sod cloth around the bottom inside perimeter. This helps to seal out crawling critters. Comes with a duffel style storage bag and hefty, 12-inch steel, tent stakes. Note that the screen house is not free-standing - it needs to be staked down or anchored in order to stand.

very impressive structure!
I put up the Kodiak Screen House (#6714) that I purchased from your company at Bogart Park in Inland Empire. I must say, this is a very impressive structure! It's the perfect size for the park and I didn't have to worry about finding a park picnic table because I was able to fit everything I needed right inside the screen house!

Q: Is this tent okay to sleep in or would you better recommend using it for lounging throughout the day? (Eating meals, reading, relaxing, etc.)
Asked by: Maddie - 7/15/2015
A: This is actually not a tent, but a screen house. It has no floor and cannot be sealed off completely from the outside. The product definitely is more suited for lounging and doing the activities you outline.

Q: I see that there is an awning on the front side as well as the backside. Is that identical? Or are they different awnings?
Asked by: Customer - 7/30/2015
A: The awnings are identical on both sides. They are designed to give some shade and to allow a breeze to go through the large windows. They can be zipped shut which allows you to protect yourself from rain (though please keep in mind this does not include a floor and is not designed to function as a tent in any weather).

Q: Can I purchase this tent with the floor? I don't see an option where I can get this with the floor.
Asked by: Customer - 7/30/2015
A: This screen room is not available with a built-in floor. That is, it is not sold as a tent in this exact same style. The closest model would be model 6043 (previously known as model 6041 VX) although this screen room has one extra awning and larger front and rear windows. So, this model does give you more ventilation, but model 6043 gives you a floor.

Q: Does the free ground tarp fit the bottom footprint of this screen house?
Asked by: Customer - 7/30/2015
A: Yes, the ground tarp is designed to fit this specific tent/screen house. However, please keep in mind that the ground tarp may be slightly larger or smaller than the footprint of the tent depending on how tight you pull the tent when you stake it down. For example, if you were to pull one corner and stick it down and then go to the other corner and pull it tighter and stake it down you might find that the ground tarp is a perfect fit. Canvas can stretch a little bit creating a little bit of a difference between the footprint of the tarp and the footprint of the tent. They are a very close match in any case though.

Q: Is it difficult to take the awnings down if it's raining and I suddenly need to take them down?
Asked by: Customer - 7/30/2015
A: It is very quick to take down the awnings. The only thing that is holding the awning poles in place is the guy rope. So, you can simply grab the bottom of the pole and let it come down. Then, zip up the window flap quickly and you are set. It does not matter if the rope or the poles get wet. In other words, is very quick to make this waterproof. Probably takes less than one minute.

Q: I have limited funds so I'm unsure whether I should go with this and use it as a tent or whether I should go with, say, model 6010. Any advice?
Asked by: Customer - 7/30/2015
A: I would recommend going with the tent for you go with the screen room. The tent will keep you protected from the rain and the screen house will only keep you protected from mild rain. The screen house is designed simply to give you fresh air and a beautiful view, but most people that purchase the screen house have already purchased a tent. You can most definitely camp in the screen house, but it does not include the floor so please keep that in mind.
